Cristian Rodriguez was born in Jalisco, Mexico, and immigrated to the United States at a young age. For many years, she built a career as an operations manager at an auto parts company in Arizona. During the COVID period, a serious workplace incident led her to step away from management entirely, return to California, and spend two years focused on healing and rebuilding her life.
When she was ready to find a new direction, it came from an unexpected place. Someone who knew her well offered a simple observation: “You have a nice personality. Why don’t you drive a limousine?” Cristian took the suggestion seriously. She began working as a limousine chauffeur and quickly discovered a genuine passion for the industry. Over the course of a year, that passion grew into something bigger. Determined not to return to the corporate world, she committed herself to saving money and learning everything she could about the transportation business.
With support from her employer, who recognized her entrepreneurial potential, Cristian purchased her first 20-passenger bus directly from the company’s fleet and officially launched CLC Limousine Inc. She soon noticed customer demand for smaller, more intimate vehicles. Seeing an opportunity, she secured a loan through US Bank and purchased a 12-passenger Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Using income from the first bus, Cristian personally designed the Sprinter’s interior, creating a modern, festive atmosphere with neon lights and a star-covered ceiling. Soon after, the second bus was ready for service.
Partnering with another local entrepreneur, Cristian began offering special quinceañera packages combining party bus services, decorations, and beauty services for the guest of honor. Around that same time, her business partner came across a Spanish-language Facebook advertisement for business classes, and they enrolled together in the Emprendedor@s Program at the Entrepreneurial Resource Center in Temecula.
Cristian’s motivation was straightforward: she wanted to make sure everything was in order. Without anyone to guide her through the business formation process, she worried she had missed something or set things up incorrectly. The Emprendedor@s Program, the first generation offered at the ERC Temecula location and made possible through support from Riverside County, the City of Temecula, US Bank, and the Centro de Recursos Empresariales, gave her a structured path forward.
Through the program, Cristian received training in business planning, licensing and permitting, and financial readiness. Working one-on-one with Monica Robles, Founder and President of the Asociación de Emprendedor@s and an internationally certified John Maxwell Team coach, she successfully obtained her business license and strengthened her foundation as a small business owner. The program also addressed something more personal: a fear of public speaking that had made presenting her business feel overwhelming.
“I was afraid of speaking in public and even presenting my business made me feel ashamed. With Monica’s support — as the leader of the Emprendedor@s Program — I learned to lose that fear, gain confidence and believe in myself and my business,” said Cristian.
Cristian graduated from the program, and she celebrated the grand opening of CLC Limousine Inc. with a ribbon cutting ceremony at UTICA Executive Suites in Rancho Cucamonga. The event drew community leaders and fellow entrepreneurs, including Guadalupe Durán of the Microenterprise Collaborative of Inland Southern California (MECISC), Juan Hernández of Latinos Transformando Latinos and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of San Bernardino, and Melissa Martínez, a fellow Emprendedor@s graduate whose encouragement had first inspired Cristian to enroll in the program.
Cristian received certificates of recognition from the Asociación de Emprendedor@s and from Senator Eloise Gómez Reyes of Senate District 29, along with a congratulatory message and gift from the San Bernardino County Economic Development Department.
“The Asociación de Emprendedor@s recognizes your professionalism, love for your work, and dedication to your clients, which you make known through your services,” said Monica Robles.
“I thank God, Monica and her team for supporting Hispanic businesses, for encouraging me to keep fighting for my dream, and for teaching me to believe in myself and my business,” Cristian said.
Today, CLC Limousine Inc. operates two buses and serves events across Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Inland Empire, and Orange Counties. Looking ahead, Cristian plans to add a third Sprinter with a corporate aesthetic, lease an office with a garage where clients can sign contracts and view the vehicles, and expand her client base to include schools and corporate customers during the week, building a steadier revenue stream beyond weekend events.
